
Each of us lives downstream of someone.
That water eventually ends up in our own drinking glass. We hold it to the light, check for clarity, and hope people upstream have been respectful.
This is an analogy, of course.
But not really.
As I face the consequences of decisions others have made — ecological, political, cultural — which now impact my life, I've grown increasingly aware my own decisions are impacting others downstream of me.
This awareness informs my designs.
