Rick ~ NAMM is over! Kind of sad, kind of glad. All that noise takes a toll on you after a few days. Spearfish and I made it back to Atlanta safely. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!
Back to reality, which still feels like a dream...
Ran into Evan Brewer on the floor. We were happy we bumped into each other! He asked me what I was up to these days with the music…said he was a fan. I said something about sending tracks online and he was like “You’re in ATL right? I’m in Tennessee, we can just meet up sometime.” Very cool. I will keep you updated on that.
Finally got to say thanks to Tosin. He was doing a signing at the Two Notes booth, so I caught him there. He asked me how school has been and what I was up to. It was a good feeling to finally say thanks and to hear him say that I earned the scholarship. A cool moment for me.
Met a few people that recognized me from guitar vids on Instagram. That was cool. I use the S2 in all the videos so when I mentioned that I had a new build, we had to find a quiet spot to take a look. The Spearfish found its way into lots of players’ hands, and I’m so happy for that.
Flew home yesterday morning. Had to catch a flight from LAX > ATL at 6AM. I had no problems getting the guitar onboard. Once I got the ATL, I caught a shuttle back to the hotel where my car was parked and struck a conversation with the driver. He asked me what kind of guitar I had in the bag and I gave him the details. He was so interested that once we got to our destination he asked me to show it to him. Busted the guitar out and let him inspect it. Pure joy and curiosity. He plays gigs on the side and gave me his card. Damn. I’ve met a lot of people because of these guitars.
There is a lot that I’m leaving out, but these moments made the trip memorable. Here are more pics from the show.
