New Jersey, 11:30 pm. Monday.
Just returned from dropping Spearfish™ off to Laura and Don. Early in the morning Don will be catching a flight to Atlanta to hand deliver the guitar to Gabe Lopez for NAMM. The safest form of transport at this late hour. Credit goes to Laura for conceiving a truly pirate-worthy plan...
Guitarded is my new favorite word.
Delivery was preceded by a visit to Russo Music Center in Trenton, NJ. As always, I am constantly evaluating the types of cases that best fit my guitars, seeking solutions which are practical in the real world of transportation. Not a fan of hard cases, and the gig bag market is constantly evolving in exciting directions. Gator Pro-Go was in stock and proved to be perfectly fitted for Spearfish™ design. Let's test!
I also picked up a black leather strap, made in USA by Franklin. Very nice workmanship.
Russo salesman Sean Glonek was both knowledgable and helpful. He owns SRG Studios. We struck up a conversation, leading to Sean getting a few minutes to play the NAMM Spearfish through a Fender Bassman, excited by the neck and intonation accuracy. We will be connecting again in the near future.
I have necessary family responsibilities right now, so traveling to NAMM was out of the question for me this year. I am grateful for this time with Dad, and grateful I have loving friends who are stepping in to help make the show possible.
