This guitar is extraordinary.
One of the finest guitars I've built, or even seen.
Whoever takes her home is in for a night of surprises, and probably no sleep. I'll predict this affair will become long-term. Warn your wife or girlfriend (txt message is perfectly fine).
I wanted to revisit the T2 platform concept, but introduce the Element™ machined aircraft aluminum neck into the equation. Something I've desired for the past two years. Raj Swaminithan graciously accepted his quarter-sawn curly maple neck T2 at NAMM 2012 and it's been other fires to tend to, since then.
Would be inappropriate to drool over email... I mean, I don't really know you that well?

I cut my teeth on a Telecaster so there's a nostalgia factor here. A '68 Tele neck hangs on the wall of Dad's workshop, project from my formative years that never reached completion, due to warp. If nothing else, I learned I wanted to build guitar necks much differently than Leo Fender. And I have.
Rick, that is
most beautiful 'tele' I have ever seen.
I just can't stop gawking a it. It is stunning.

Leo and I would enjoy a wonderful conversation, were he alive, as kindred spirits exploring what's possible. Whenever I round a blind corner, chasing a curve, or figuring out an easier way to do things...I see his footprint, or sometimes glimpse his smile. I don't foresee any ego conflicts between us.
There's too much still to learn.
Chasing guitar design for a lifetime won't be long enough. It will take a much smarter (or perhaps arrogant) person, someone other than me, who could ever claim total mastery of lutherie.

I loved the challenge of hand-building a guitar to a level of precision and newness equivalent to output of an established production line. Call it practice, perhaps. This T2 may be a one-off, or it may be a prototype for future production guitars.
In many ways, that depends on you. On demand.
I would also love to see this guitar onstage, somewhere. If you are someone who could elevate this machine to world-wide status, let's talk. Conversely, if you want her exclusively to yourself, I fully understand. That was my first urge too.
Either way, I'm introducing her to the crowd. Interested?
