Rick,
I like trapezoid idea alot. Does this design leave out the truss rod? I have a bass design in electronic 3D math format (Catia V5) which has taken over 2 months to complete. I created the neck cross sectional profile to match or be similar to the Smith bass. The body is unique however not as radically different as yours are. My plans are to one day go into production once I can procure a decent 3 axis CNC router. My talents are best used on the computer as I will likely have help with the hand work after CNC cutting. I would like to email screen shots of my instrument over to you. Let me know if you are interested and send me a line.
Regards,
Karl
